This week, on Thursday 17 September, New Zealand String Quartet and Ariana Tikao are performing Manaaki at The Piano, in Ōtautahi.
The piece was commissioned by the Aotearoa NZ Festival of the arts in 2022, and uses the structure of a pōwhiri as inspiration for a musical form.
The programme also includes music by Fanny Mendelssohn, Anthony Ritchie, Ariana Tikao, Gareth Farr, and Benjamin Britten. Full details and ticketing are at The Piano’s website.
